Laikipia West Member of Parliament Wachira Karani has castigated a section of leaders allied to the Party of National Unity (PNU) led by Meru Governor Peter Munya over division of the Mt. Kenya region vote.
Mr. Wachira said it is unfortunate that the leaders were interfering DP Ruto’s party which is in a guest to win 2017 general election.
Wachira said the Munya should a choose his own political vehicle ahead of the 2017 general election and should refrain from tarnishing the DPs name in politics.He said PNU Chairman and other top leaders were in discussion with the Jubilee Party to look into ways of merging small parties ahead of the 2017 polls.
He said time has come for the country to bring together all small parties into few major outfits that can compete on guided policies instead policies aligned to tribal lines.
Wachira noted that effort to unite the parties from Mt. Kenya region will kill ambitions of rebel leaders in the region.
He advised them to support JAP party to salvage their future political interests .
The Meru Governor is among top influential politicians from Mt Kenya who have given a wide berth Ruto’s political side.
