The Rift valley regions term two B games ended on a sad note following the tragedy of a fatal road accident that claimed lives of three students and 40 others sustaining injuries from Turkana County early Friday morning.

The games which ended on Friday evening with participants from 14 counties observing a minute of silence for their fallen counterparts who perished along Kabarnet -Iten road after a bus they had boarded lost brakes veering off the road killing the three on the spot .

Students from four schools in Turkana county were traveling in AGC Lokichar Secondary school were going back home after taking part in the regions annual event.

However , St.  Anthony boys won the football championship after thrashing Chemase boys 3 -0 in a low spirited match following the accident.

In soccer girls, Wiyeta girls from Tranzoia County won the title after beating Platue girls from Uasingishu county 4-0.

In volley ball men, Cheptil Boys maintained their title after beating Tuiyo 3 sets to nil while their girls Cheptil beat  Kabuyefwe 3-1.

Sombre mood characterized the closing ceremony as winners received their awards with no cheers following the accident. Six students who were critically injured were rushed for further treatment in St. Lukes hospital in Eldoret.

After the tournament all roads will be leading to Nyeri county for National games that will kick off next month.
