Eric Kiprotich: In few words who is sheila mark?
Sheila Mark: I’m Sheila Mark, born again Christian. I do Gospel music as a career. I was born in Bomet county, Tulwet ab Mosonik village and currently based in Nairobi. I attended my primary school in Bomet county, high school in Nakuru county and college Uasin Gishu county.

E.K.: How did your interest in music start ?
S.M.: My interest in Gospel Music started as I kept serving God as a praise and worship

E.K.: Talk to us about some of the songs you have done ?
S.M.: Thus far i have come done first and second album and at the moment working on my third album at the moment .The first album called SAENYUN meaning my prayer did a tremendous impact that I didn’t expect, the second album called WELEL KAINENYUN has made even more, I thank God for the grace and favour to serve serve in this ministry/area of c.

E.K.: What has been your career highlight?
S.M.: My aim is to use my music gift to reach out to many so as to lead them to Christ, as well as motivate and encourage them.

E.K.: In your opinion, what do you personally consider to be the incisive moment in your career as a songstress?
S.M.: What keeps me moving is my passion for God and the fact that I have seen many come to Christ through my music. What makes  the difference in music is, when you sing the word of God , I normally say Gospel music is not Gospel unless you sing the word of God. Seeking Gods anointing is also what matters a lot to touch peoples lives.

E.K.: Currently what are some of the challenges you do face ?
S.M.:  The challenges we have as artists is how to start, since nobody can support what they haven’t seen ,when starting you have to bring out what you have before you get support .another challenge is how to market/distribute.

E.K.: As a musician what are some of the criteria you use in writing of your songs ?
S.M.: I write my songs  based on the word and the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

My main aim is to win souls for Christ and give back to the society by supporting orphans widows and the needy that Christ may be glorified

E.K.: Who are some of the artist you look up to? And probably who is your dream collabo artist?
S.M.: Personally I  love/admire so many artists in  Kenya and beyond but I don’t have a specific one am looking up to, though I admire the Kind of music done by JOE  PRAIZE and  JIMMY D Psalmist  personally am not for collabo at the moment with anyone since i want to grow as per the grace given to me but if anyone wants to do one with me I have no problem.

E.K.: What does the future hold for sheila mark ?
S.M.: My main aim is to win souls for Christ and give back to the society by supporting orphans widows and the needy that Christ may be glorified. I’m also looking forward to making a network so as to reach many Artists and assist them achieve their dreams, through marketing, promoting and empowering  talent.

My word to all upcoming artists is, make God your first priority  don’t make money your reason for doing music lest you be disappointed .If God called you he will supply all your needs to accomplish the assignment he gave you .the Bible says in Philippians 4:6 that he who began a good thing in you is faithful to accomplish .if you   doing it for God he can’t let his name down he will lift you from glory to glory. Also as a gospel artist be a prayerful person, read the word of and have a home church. God is faithful he never fails.

E.K.: As we close our interview you have a new single talk to us more about it?
S.M.: I have got a new release called INDOIYSEWON meaning Lead me Lord, it a song that I wrote in a time when I was about to make a very sensitive decision in my life, but its also a prayer song where am asking God to quide me in everything I do, and every step that I take in my walk with God.
