As the country gears towards general election artists from all over Rift Valley have resorted to use their music and talent to preach peace to communities living in different parts of counties in Rift valley,a place that was adversely affected by 2007 post election violence.
Sheila Mark, a leading gospel artist said the initiative to preach peace before election has been informed by the current wave of lawlessness that has ravaged most of the counties as the race to campaigns heats up.
“We have started here in Baringo to tell people to uphold peace and elections should not divide us. We will be heading to Nandi, Uasingishu and other counties urge our people especially youth not be used to cause mayhem, “said Sheila.
Mark says they are on a journey to cover other counties to preach peace and the need for tolerance.Baringo county becomes the first county to host such a music extravaganza that brings all artists from different communities living in Rift Valley to preach peace to locals.
Artistes; Winrose Chepkorir, Florence Andenyi and Flexxy Kimulwo among others entertained hundreds of locals who had turned up for the event.
She says that they are going to involve leaders in their push to have peaceful elections and also ensure harmonious living even she revealed that they are also targeting the spotting and nurturing of talents in their counties tours.
