Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen today buried themselves in a bitter exchange of words before supporters who had turned up for a women fundraiser in Bartolimo, Baringo County.
The two political rivals who met for the first time blamed each other for persistent accusations over supremacy in the rift with Deputy President William Ruto’s aide Kipchumba Murkomen telling off KANU’s Gideon Moi to shelve his ambitions for presidency 2022 and support William Ruto in his bid to clinch power after President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Jubilee affiliated leaders Moi is on the fore front to divide the vote rich Rift Valley into two by spoiling for William Ruto come 2022 but defending himself Gideon Moi said he doesn’t have ill will for Ruto saying he is just after ensuring the electorate get development.
Moi responded to Murkomen saying the DP himself has been on the war path of insulting him for exercise his democratic right to demand for the rights of Wananchi.
He further said if DP Ruto succeeds then it will be his happiness but if he wins he should support him.
Supremacy battles in the Rift Valley has lately risen with each factions ganging against each other to woo voters even as the Moi led team courting the opposition to oust Jubilee government in next year’s general elections.
In also the fundraiser, Murkomen refused to greet each other with rebel Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto who attended the event.
Governor Ruto said no one should force him to join Jubilee asking DP Ruto to stop insulting them.
Also present in the function were Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho Senator), Prof John Lonyangapuo (Senator West Pokot) among other leaders.
