Marion Langat: Marion Cherotich Langat is a presenter at Congasis FM aged 24 years

E.M: When did your interest for journalism start?
M.L: I actually started doing journalism from childhood and i can frankly attest that’s when my interest commenced.

E.M: When did you make your first shot to media?
M.L: When I went for my internship at Kass Media Group in 2014 that’s when I rose to where I am.

E.M: What has the experience been?
M.L: It has been fantastic safe for some few challenges here and there

E.M: Talking of challenges what are you facing out right now?
M.L: Not much at the moment; what I am trying to work on is how to handle my listeners, some of whom have a lot to contribute to the topic of discussion. We always don’t have enough time to do it conclusively.

E.M: You run a show at Congasis tell us more about it?
M.L: Yes I do run two shows; one is called Mas Kasit and the other one is Ibindap Somok which basically deals with youth matters.

E.M: What influences the choice of topic in both topics – Ibindap Somok and Mas Kasit?
M.L: Being the morning hours of a day people are busy doing their work where I encourage them to love what they are doing so we say Mas Kasit – loosely translates to chapa kazi.
Ibindap Somok entails the young generation.we deal with issues that are mostly faced by our youths.

E.M: What was your turning point in life?
M.L: When I got my first job in a radio station

E.M: Any regrets you hold in life?
M.L: I don’t have any regrets in life always proud of myself and my achievement so far.

E.M: Aspirations?
M.L: Am aspiring to be someone great, an example to other people in future through my professional work.

E.M: A lot of young people are looking up to you as a role model what’s your advice to them?
M.L: I want to advice them to always be hard working and positive in whatever they do .
