In a bid to win Jubilee seats, Jubilee leaders from the North rift are expected to start campaigning for candidates who are vying on Jubilee tickets across the North rift counties.
The joint campaigns by Jubilee nominees in the region which is also Deputy President William Ruto’s backyard will kick off in Baringo County this Saturday where the leaders will be seeking the locals to vote for Jubilee in the August general elections.
The move which is also seen as solidifying the region for Jubilee party ahead of the elections is to ensure the over 14 counties vote for Jubilee party.
“All leaders from the North rift counties who are nominated under Jubilee party will be in Baringo County to conduct series of rallies to drum up support for the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta and also appeal to the voters to elect Jubilee aspirants,”said Simon Chelugui who is vying for Baringo Senatorial seat on a Jubilee ticket.
Speaking to Rift News, Chelugui said the leaders led by Uasingishu governor Jackson Mandago and Nandi Hills Mp Alfred Keter will lead the delegation to the region to campaign for Jubilee.
“The road rallies will start in Kipsaraman in Baringo North and end in Marigat, Baringo South on Saturday. The leaders will also conduct rallies in other counties to secure many Jubilee legislators,” further added Chelugui.
The rally comes amid a threat of other parties and independent candidates in the region to deny Jubilee party legislators.
