Security has been beefed in Mukutani, Baringo South as slain nine people who were killed one week ago by Pokot bandits are being laid to rest today in a mass grave in Mukutani full gospel church.
The five women and four children met their gruel deaths on the evening of a Tuesday following a retaliatory attacks after two pokot women were killed.
Bodies of the deceased are being ferried from Kabarnet Mortuary to Mukutani under tight security for burial. This happens as Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have been deployed to quell the perennial attacks in the troubled parts of Baringo County.
Despite the security in place, mourners led by Amos Olempaka still fear for attacks as they have been reports that the send off might be disrupted.
Even as the bodies are being interred, thousands of displaced victims are in camps as they wait security to be restored so that they can go back to their homes.
Schools in the have not re-opened and towns of Mukutani and Loruk towns remains deserted.
No political leader from Baringo county has confirmed attendance in the send off as the Deputy President is expected to officiate the opening of Information Communication Technology (ICT) center in Mwachon, Eldama-Ravine sub county.
