At least 10 people die every day due road accidents in Kenya as a result of invisible road signs which is one of  the contributors to the staggering statistics.

Due to the large number of human lives lost road safety has become a major concern to almost every person today , William Ouma ,Chair person Society for Prevention of Road Accidents (SePORA) has come up with thermoplastic Premark signs to enable reduce deaths on the road.

The new concept of laying thermoplastic road traffic signs on the road surface seeks to reduce vandalism of road signs and also visibility of the signs fundamentally warns drivers on speed limits or danger.

“Road signs have become invisible due to vandalism or posters being placed on the road signs which have made road users not to adhere to road rules leading to deaths but with these signs it will help because it is on the road ,”said Ouma.

Mr. Ouma who says he was worried on the deaths on Kenyan roads decided to come up with the initiative which has reduced deaths significantly in Denmark. He said if implemented in Kenya it can help in reducing road accident deaths.

He said the signs laid in Baringo are the first to be implemented in Africa also intends to create employment in the country saying the process of installing the signs is easy and affordable.
