The rift supremacy battles between Kenya African National Union (KANU) and Jubilee played out visibly today in Baringo when they held parallel fundraisers with each displaying show of might to woo supporters.

Jubilee who were in the home turf of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi pressured Moi to join jubilee saying the independence party is outdated and has lost support across the riftvalley.

Led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen they said the Senator should heed their calls to join Jubilee and also support Deputy Presidents William Ruto’s bid for president 2022.

“Even KANU didn’t belong to Retired President Daniel Arap Moi and later didn’t help President Uhuru Kenyatta clinch power.  Gideon should not stick to an outdated party which is old fashioned but join us in Jubilee, “said Murkomen.

Also present were Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi ,Sammy Mwaita (Baringo Central MP), Grace Kiptui (Baringo Women Rep) and William Cheptumo (MP Baringo North) who took a swipe on KANU leaders who regularly have issues with Deputy President saying they should show support to the son of their own.

But on the KANU fundraiser which was held 50 meters away from the jubilee’s and just after Jubilee leaders boarding chopper to another function, Baringo Senator Moi among other KANU brigade touched down with two choppers steered clear from politics urging the locals to register in large numbers as voters.
Emurua Dikir member of parliament Johana Ngeno lashed at Murkomen saying he is too junior to talk to Baringo Senator.

“Murkomen is too junior for him to advise Gideon Moi on politics and he should stop talking about KANU, “said Ng’eno.

The cockerel’s brigade who have come out lately with new slogan ‘Mambo Bado’ hinted that they will fill all elective posts next year’s general election.

“KANU will fill competitive posts come 2017 and we promise fierce battle ahead, “said party’s secretary genera Nick Salat.

KANU were fundraising for Youth while Jubilee were fundraising for several women groups in Baringo central.
