Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro has announced that she will defect from ODM Party. The former mp has cited frustration in the party as her reasons.

She will be joining a National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliate party to run for Ruaraka Parliamentary Seat. Ongoro who was apparently denied a chance in 2013 to run for Nairobi senatorial seat due to regional balancing has said that, despite being  Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga’s staunch supporter the party has sidelined her in favour of the incumbent, TJ kajwang who was given a direct ticket and was also exempted by the disciplinary committee yet he was the one disrupting meetings organized by  the nominated senator.

The senator has insisted  that she must be on the ballot for Ruaraka parliamentary contest in August this year.
