Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has condemned the Thursday evening confrontation between hawkers and County Enforcement Officers in Eldoret Main market that left several injured and property destroyed.

In a press briefing Friday morning the Commissioner termed the incident as unfortunate and promised to step up war on criminal gangs that were perpetuating crime in the County.

“We would not condone lawlessness to prevail in the County, every person should respect the rule of law”, he remarked.

The Commissioner pointed that his administration is aware of armed groups of criminals and gangsters that are out to cause violence and destruction to other people’s property and said that their days are numbered.

“We will crash and bring them down, we will not go back to war and violence as witnessed in 2007 just because of a few criminal gangs”, he
