The fight against illicit brews in Baringo Central is expected to intensify following issuance of motorcycles to all Chiefs in the area today.
The Deputy County Commissioner Alfred Mwandale who led a ceremony to distribute the motorcycles at the County Commissioner’s office grounds in Kabarnet town said the local administrators will no longer use the excuse of transport challenge.
Mwandale said that the Chiefs will now be in a position to fight with second generation brews and all sorts of criminal activities in the community.
Mr Mwandale said that dealing with illicit brew will soon be a thing of the past as the chiefs can easily traverse their locations and arrest the brewers.
The administrators also confirmed that the chiefs will benefit from monthly fuel and mobile phone airtime towards their operations.
However, the Chiefs received a stern warning from the Deputy County Commissioner against misusing the motorcycles for their own personal interests other than duty related activities.
Representatives of the Chiefs in the Sub-County Mr Edwin Tomno of Kituro Location praised the National government gesture saying the availability of the motorcycles will help a lot in making their work efficient.
