Baringo central hopeful Eddy Koimet has urged voters to vote for a leader with track record not one with only empty promises which they are not sure if they will be delivered once elected.

Koimett who was speaking yesterday evening at Kabarnet town when he addressed hundreds of his supporters pleaded with the electorate not to be allowed to suffer for the next five years because of politicians who have not shown signs of delivering.

This came after rival supporters of David Kerich and Joshua Kandie engaged in a bitter exchange of words causing a traffic jam for several hours in Kabarnet town yesterday.

Koimett who is vying on a KANU ticket hinted that leadership is not forcefully attained but it is the people who decide who to entrust with power so that they can be governed under trusted hands.

He stated that Baringo county at large will only grow economically if the residents wake up and realize that they have always been voting for the wrong people.

Additionally, Koimett noted that the political leaders should cease from putting their personal interests forward. He said; “instead of that they should major in transforming the community they come from.”

“When you are in power you should know that you are an employee of the people and you should diligently deliver for them” he stated adding that the citizenry have the right to disown a leader who is a non performer.

Koimett who is deemed as a late entrant to the political arena has caused ripples in the region.

However, political analysts conclude that he might clinch the hotly contested seat if he gets at least 20% of the votes in Kerich and Kandie’s strongholds

The trio ended their political campaigns yesterday with everyone of them believing that he will emerge the winner after the general elections on Tuesday 8th, next wee
