Deputy President William Ruto has urged Uasin Gishu gubernatorial hopeful Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki to shelve his bid and support the incumbent his political rival Governor Jackson Mandago in the August 8, 2017 polls.

Addressing a rally on Saturday in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County, Dp Ruto said those who lost in Jubilee primaries and have secured independent tickets should step down for those who won in the party elections.

“Those who lost in our party nominations should just accept defeat and support winners so that we can get many Jubilee legislators. My friend Buzeki should step aside for Mandago as a show unity ,” said Ruto who has been seen to be fronting to Buzeki.

Nandi-Keiyo rivalry had played out as the gubernatorial campaigns was intensifying with the duo using all political tactics that was posing a risk to the unity among the two and other communities living in the county.

The prominent businessman who displayed financial might during jubilee campaigns lost to Mandago and has promised a fierce battle in the August election on an independent ticket.

This comes barely a week after  Nakuru Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua, who lost in the Jubilee primaries bowed to pressure to withdraw his candidature an independent ticket to support Jubilee’s Lee Kinyanjui.

But on a live interview on Citizen Tv last week ,Buzeki vowed not to drop his bid even if he was asked to from top Jubilee leaders.
