Legislators from Baringo County have joined other leaders in calling for the stepping aside of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission boss Philip Kinisu over criminal culpability in a probe touching on his family company.
Speaking yesterday in Kalabata, Baringo County during a fundraiser the leaders urged the embattled EACC boss to step aside to allow investigations over claims of corruption that touched on his family company dealings with National Youth Service (NYS).
Baringo North Member of Parliament William Cheptumo said the board chair should step aside saying there is need for government to come out clear on when an accused person resigns or steps aside pending investigation.
Joseph Makilap supported the sentiments for Kinisu’s stepping aside to commence investigations on graft allegations.
The NYS is under investigation over questionable supply deals in light of revelations that the institution lost close to 800 million shillings paid to shadowy companies for services not rendered.
Kinisu recently appeared before Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) last week Monday to shed light on how his family company, Esaki limited, won lucrative government tenders worth million of shillings .
