Shock and uncertainty continues to grip the Baringo county assembly after a Member of County assembly went missing and his whereabouts still remains unknown since yesterday.

Churo Amaya Mca Thomas Minito is reportedly unknown after having lunch in Sinkoro hotel in Kabarnet with a lady friend before three men identifying themselves as police officers allegedly took him for questioning.

Reports however indicate that his phone was later switched off shortly and efforts to trace him remain futile.

Baringo county MCA’s today came out in solidarity calling police and other relevant government agencies to shed light on his disappearance.

Led by Baringo county deputy speaker Douglas Kiplimo said that the MCA was whisked away by people purporting to be police officers. They claimed that despite efforts to trace him, their efforts have been unsuccessful.

“Menito left county assembly buildings for lunch at around 1;30 pm .She was in accompany of a lady who is an educationist from Tiaty sub county when three men who identified as police requested him to follow them to police station for interrogation,” said the Deputy speaker

The Mca said as per the latest trends, their security was at stake and called for urgent intervention measures.

His sentiments were echoed by other Baringo MCAs who called for police and other state apparatus to help search him. They claimed that they were getting conflicting reports on his whereabouts and they were shocked on his continued disappearance.

They said from the look of things, there are left a worried lot as their security wasn’t guaranteed.

“We are worried lot since we don’t know what may befell him since up to now the police have denied arresting him ,” said Tirioko ward Mca Stephen Maklap.

Baringo County Police Commander Peter Ndung’u confirmed the reports of missing legislator and the police are monitoring everywhere to ascertain the whereabouts of the Mca.

Minito had been facing incitement and damage to property charges over invasion of conservationist Kuki Gallman of Laikipia nature conservancy in Laikipia county and was out on bond.

This comes months after Loyamorok ward mca Kibets Cheretei and Tiaty MP aspirant Pepee Kitambaa were brutally murdered at an entertainment joint in Marigat.
