One person has died and six others sustain injuries after a Toyota Land cruiser police vehicle they were travelling in got involved in a road accident on Tuesday morning when its rear left side tyre bursted along Chemolingot –Marigat highway.

The Administration Police vehicle which was heading to Marigat from Turkana County had on board three police officers and four civilians lost control veering off the road killing a seven year old boy on the spot near Kampi Samaki shopping center.

Police officers who were in patrol along the route rushed the injured to Marigat Hospital for treatment while one police officer who sustained serious injuries was taken to a Nakuru hospital for further treatment.

Two AP officers got arm and chest injuries received treatment in the hospital and they were later discharged.

This comes barely a two weeks after a school bus belonging to AGC Lokichar secondary was involved in fatal accident along Kabarnet –Iten road killing three students on the spot.
