Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi has lauded senators for passing into law the controversial manual and electronic voting systems which Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD ) was against.
Governor while on Friday at thanksgiving ceremony for Kings Hill academy welcomed the move saying it provides alternative if the electronic voter system fails.
CORD on Thursday senate seating was defeated by an overwhelming number of jubilee who dashed the hopes of the opposition supporting the electronic system.
Mr. Cheboi noted that the opposition should accept the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for the system will not be effective all over the country.
The opposition earlier had claimed the introduction of the systems was plan by jubilee to rig polls.
CORD had earlier threatened to hold a mega demonstration last week to push for use of electronic system in the next general election.
The use of electronic and manual voting systems was a weighty issue with CORD who have claimed jubilee plans to allow election malpractices.
CORD for recent occasions been undermined by jubilee tyranny of numbers both in national assembly and senate .
