A woman was today arraigned in a Kabarnet court to answer to the charge of killing her Child soon after delivery at a Marigat health facility.

The suspect, Nelly Cherogony from Maoi, Baringo South Constituency is accused of deliberately causing the death of her young baby by killing and throwing it in to a pit latrine.

The prosecution pleaded with the court to give them a 14 day extension for which they will have completed investigation into the alleged crime.

Principal Magistrate Samson Temu granted the orders to enable completion of investigation.
Nelly Cherogony is to be remanded at the Kabarnet Police Station even as further conclusive investigations are being conducted.

The case will be mentioned on 3rd May 2016.
