Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has condemned killings along borders of Baringo and Turkana counties.
In a statement to the media, Mr. Gideon Moi stressed on the need of peace deal between the warring two communities.
The senator, who spoke on the sidelines of killings where scores of people have been left dead, said peace in the volatile borders is paramount.
He noted that peace between the two communities would be a game changer if development in the two counties were to be realized.
‘‘ Baringo and Turkana counties are endowed with untapped resources which if utilized will boost their livelihoods. Solution to border conflicts in the neighbor counties will transform the rich counties economically,’’ Gideon Moi said.
The Committee on Energy Chairman assured counties that adoption of his local content bill would mark a breakthrough for key players in oil and gas industries.
He stressed that counties rich in minerals will soon benefit if his bill is passed in the parliament.
Mr. Moi however called on the security apparatus in the county to ensure peace and normalcy in the affected areas.
The attack comes barely a month after 20 people lost their lives in fierce battle between Marakwet and Pokot communities over cattle rustling.
According to Regional Commissioner Wanyama Musiambo, Security personnel have been deployed in the areas to beef up security.
The Regional Commissioner who spoke s during the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) mission led by Chairman Francis Ole Kaparo in Koloa, Baringo County warned media of relaying information without confirming from concerned authorities.
Leaders present at the meeting pledged to enhance peace in the volatile areas but cautioned perpetrators of community feuds that those who will be found abetting crime will be brought to book.
