Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) luminaries are expected in Marigat, Baringo County tomorrow on Thursday on a mission to popularise the recently talked about opposition unity and sensitize residents of Baringo to register in large numbers for the ongoing Mass Voter Registration.
They will also be gracing the launch of Moses Olempaka’s second bid for Baringo South Parliamentary seat on a Orange Democratic Party (ODM) ticket.
Speaking to Rift News on phone , Olempaka a key ODM member in Baringo urged residents in large number who include Mombasa county governor Ali Hassan Joho , Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya ,Former Secretary general for The National Alliance party(TNA) Onyango Oloo who recently decamped to ODM among other top party brigade.
“We are expecting top CORD leaders tomorrow for a political rally in Marigat town to popularise NASA, appeal for our people to register as voters and also launch my candidature for Baringo South parliamentary seat,” said Olempaka.
ODM will also be seeking to gain ground in the area that is largely seen as Jubilee and Kenya African National Union (KANU) strongholds although the Ilchamus Community who reside in the county voted overwhelmingly for ODM in the 2013 general election.
The CORD leaders are also expected criticise the government for laxity in addressing the current drought witnessed in parts of the county majorly Baringo North, Mogotio, Baringo South and Tiaty sub counties.
