Residents of Baringo have called on an immediate resignation of Kabarnet Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Mr. Sebastian Mulili.
The hundreds of residents who on Wednesday staged a peaceful demonstration in Kabarnet streets suspected police in the area having colluded with criminals to rob them.
The irate residents claimed the spate of theft and rising cases of insecurity that has left a number of locals loose property worth millions is to blame on sleeping security officers.
The demonstrations come amid rampant cases of burglary targeting locals and county government officials.
They blamed the police for laxity in addressing the menace saying they have failed to arrest culprits behind the syndicate.
‘‘ We suspect police officers are behind the racket since no single arrest has been made despite suspected culprits being released upon arrival at the police station. Residents are ready to act if the disciplined officers sleep on their job,’’ Bunge la Mwananchi Chairman Mr. Isaiah Biwott said.

He noted that Baringo will stage mega peaceful protest every Wednesday to push government to realize peace.
Baringo Central Chamber of commerce chairman Ernest Kibet urged the police to provide security to enable business thrive and called on arrest of suspected criminals posing threats to locals and businesses.
The chairman reiterated that businessmen in town are the most hit by conmen colluding with police .
Police on Monday used teargas canisters and live bullets to disperse the angry locals who were on their way to unmask two individuals claiming to be copyright officials from Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK).
The suspicious masquerading officials with police arrested several business owners in Kabarnet and Kabartonjo.
County Commissioner Peter Okwanyo together with other security officers begged the protesting group to stop the demonstration to allow them enhance investigations which will lead to arrest of the suspects.
Mr. Okwanyo assured the locals that his officers would arrest the situation and ensure their peace and their safety.
