Endorois Community living along the shores of Lake Bogoria are up in arms with Baringo County Government over what they say being sidelined by the government on employment.
Hundreds of residents blocked the entrance of Lake Bogoria game park denying entrance to tourists who had visited the lake. Tourists were forced to go back following the demos.
Led by Elizabeth Kochei, claims that the county government has sidelined the community by not employing youth from the community .
They regretted that it was inhuman for the county government to unfairly discriminate against them in the distribution and sharing of proceeds from the Lake Bogoria game reserve, as should be the case.
They also took a swipe at the county government for failing to tame rogue tourists visiting the area for what they term as exploiting of underage girls as most of them have been forced to drop out of school.
They have threatened to continue blocking access to the lake and the Game reserve until the county government listen to their cries and restore the long lost justice to the Endorois community who inhabit in the area.
