Baringo County Deputy Governor has said he will not contest for Baringo South Parliamentary seat in the upcoming general elections .
Speaking on Saturday at Koimarir in Baringo South during the burial of the late Sgt. John Cherop ,Mathew Tuitoek dispelled rumors that he was to contest for Baringo South MP next year saying that he will deputise incumbent governor Benjamin Cheboi in running for second term. 
‘I am not going to contest for MP but will continue to be the running mate for governor Benjamin Cheboi as he defends his seat, ” said Tuitoek.  
There are have been calls for governor Cheboi  to ditch him for another running mate as he defend his seat to pick a candidate preferably from Baringo Central .
Pokot community from Tiaty sub county have also called on the governor to pick one of their own but Cheboi has not showed any signs of picking another running mate.
