Security officers attached to Baringo County Assembly Speaker William Kassait Kamket have been withdrawn under unclear circumstances.

According to Speaker Kamket the two officers (a corporal and a constable) informed him that they wouldn’t report to work today having been instructed to resume to their regular duties other than Speaker’s office.
Kamket who is eying Tiaty Parliamentary seat on Kanu ticket, says the police never contacted him before making the move and he does not know the motive or the reasons behind the move.
“Whether politically motivated or not, I don’t know but I am a resident of Tiaty if anyone feels aggrieved by the fact that I go to be with the people regularly there,” Kamket said.
Mr Kamket, however, seems not to be shaken either by the move as he believes that God is the sole provider of security.
“Despite all, I want to confirm to everyone that I am safe and that my security comes from God almighty and my people.” he added.
This is happens the second time after his security detail was withdrawn in May 2016 for unclear reasons.
