“I was among those who were against the constitution since it was unsustainable and it would retard development. It is time Senate and Women Reps should be removed to lessen the burden on our economy, ” said Mwaita.
The legislator also added only five percent should be nominated to represent special groups.
Barwesa Member of County Assembly Joseph Makilap supported the auditor report which if implemented will see slashing of legislators to a sustainable number .
“Mps should be reduced to the former 222 mps also number of MCAs . I think we elected legislators represent everyone so there is no need of having large number of nominated posts, ” said Makilap.
He also appealed to women to fight for elective positions than to depend on nominations.
