Speaking yesterday in Kamologon, Kipchumba Murkomen with leaders from Pokot when they were handing over of animals stolen from either sides of the Marakwet/Pokot border.
“The residents of these two counties have agreed to pursue peace and ready to pay whatever prize to achieve it. Peace building is not easy. Keeping peace is not an option it’s the only option,” said the Senator.
He also said the communities must walk the path of peace together until lasting peace is achieved.
Also present were West Pokot Senator Prof John Lonyangapuo, Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos, Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen among other leaders appealed to the two communities to coexist in harmony.
West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo echoed the sentiments saying the recently skirmishes in the border has retarded development in the area urging the leaders to unite and preach peace.
