Speaking in Eldama ravine Baringo county recently , Salat said opposed IEBC conducting the nomination saying that if allowed it will be a recipe of chaos and might plunge the country into turmoil adding that he was for the opinion that each party to should carry it’s own nomination.
This comes after a number of politicians urging the IEBC carry the party primaries saying that previous party nomination had been marred by malpractice which have denied due elected leaders find their way to elective position through dubious means, also with the recent merging of parties a section of politicians had fears that some could be given direct tickets though the government assured them fair party nomination through IEBC.
On his part, Baringo County Governor Benjamin Cheboi warned politicians against uttering words that can jeopardize the spirit of democracy urging the leaders that election is not a matter of life and death.
