Baringo County legislators have urged the National government to step up security in insecurity prone areas of the county during this festive season . Baringo County legislators have urged the National government to step up security in insecurity prone areas of the county during this festive season .

Speaking in Kabartonjo during Jamhuri day celebrations , Baringo governor Benjamin Cheboi asked the national government to deploy security officers in the areas to enable the locals merry in peace. 

He also urged Kenyans to uphold spirit of brotherhood as we head to general elections urging to not let leaders to incite them against each other.

“As we head to election I appeal to Kenyan’s not to accept to be incited by politicians against each other . We should also live in harmony as Kenyans, “said Cheboi. 

The calls comes weeks after five people were killed in the boundaries of Elgeyo Marakwet, Turkana and Baringo Counties.

Baringo North Member of Parliament urged the Cabinet Secretary of Internal Security and Coordination Joseph Nkaisery to fast track the compensation of rustling victims after the passage of Anti Cattle rustling bill by parliament. 

“I want the government to implement the compensation of victims who lost their loved ones and property through cattle rustling with immediate effect after parliament passed into law the anti cattle rustling bill, “said Cheptumo.
